Editorial DesignA booklet embodying the style and history of Firmin Didot
The design objective for this project was to design a booklet embodying the style and history of Firmin Didot. During the eighteenth century the Didot typeface became recognized as the leading modern typeface, due to its prominent vertical stress, which harmoniously contrasted the relationship between thick and thin strokes, and hairline serifs. This fresh clean modern typeface was absent of curves and frills, illuminating a new sophistication and a contemporary style that was not only aesthetically pleasing, but highly readable too.
